(St. George, Utah) The main speaker for the chapter’s January 19th meeting was Linda Lowe. (right) She is a well known local historian and teacher and told several stories of “Indian Encounters” from early pioneer history in Dixie. Her report helped all in attendance to better understand the relationship that developed between early pioneers in Dixie and the local Indians. Also on the program was Abe Young, who gave “A Moment in History” report on an encounter that David Cannon, an early settler, had with local Indians. Lynn Niederhauser made a memorial presentation honoring Cliff Spendlove, a long time SUP member. (Mr. Spendlove passed away last year.) Those in attendance also enjoyed three beautiful numbers sung by Jadon Webster.
