Tour #1

Nine Mile Canyon Tour
Lee Nelson, author, historian and leading expert on Nine Mile Canyon will lead you through “the world’s most spectacular art gallery” with many thousands of pictographs and petroglyphs left by ancient Native Americans. It will be a spectacular show. Box lunch is included. The tour will take about 7 hours and will cost an additional $50.00 for registered participants.

Tour #2:

West Desert Historic Sites Tour
John M. Beck, a local historian with many years of experience in the West Desert will share his insights as you visit Camp Floyd, Clover, Johnson Springs, Skull Valley, Iosepa, Pony Express stations and other fascinating but forgotten historical sites. This is an opportunity to see this little-noted but rich historical area with new insight. Box lunch is included. The tour will take about 6 hours and will cost an additional $40.00 for registered participants.

Tour #3:

Brigham Young University Tour
Join us as we explore outstanding attractions on the BYU Campus, including the new Broadcast Center, BYU Museum of Art and Athletic Facilities. A sit-down lunch is included with a lecture on BYU International Outreach by Sandra Rogers, BYU International Vice President. The tour will cost an additional $30.00 for registered participants.

Symposium at the Marriott

The morning lectures will feature:

  • 9:30 am: Dr. Matt Grow, historian and author: “Parley P. Pratt, Mormonism’s Apostle Paul”
  • 10:30 am: Dr. Emily Utt, Church Historical Architect: “The Provo Temple, History and Future”
  • 11:30 am: Brent Ashworth historian and collector of rare artifacts: “Surprising Finds in the Life of a Collector”
  • 12:30 pm: Lunch on your own
  • 2:00 pm: Dr. LaMar Adams, formost scholar on Isaiah: “Keys to Understanding Isaiah – Isaiah’s Prophecies of Joseph Smith & Latter-day Pioneers”

2:00 – 5:00 pm: Provo Pioneer Village and other Provo Activities
Also, in the afternoon you are invited to join us in the Pioneer Village where live demonstrations will be in progress. Other suggested activities include visiting the Crandall Printing Museum, the DUP Museum, the Mexican Mormon History Museum, the BYU Bean Museum and other sites on campus and around Provo.
