Booth Maycock, 2008 President of the Sons of Utah Pioneers

Greetings from SUP National President- 2008
— Booth Maycock —

To our members who are viewing our web site, I bring you greetings from the National Headquarters. We are gearing up for a most eventful 75th Birthday year. I encourage you to regularly check out our web site to keep up to date on the special happenings, both at the National level and with the Chapters.

One of the most important items is our Diamond Jubilee Fund. We are committed to raising $75,000 to be used for placing a monument of the Prophet Joseph Smith and Brigham Young entitled "Eyes Westward". This heroic size statue will be placed in a prominent location at the entrance to This Is the Place Heritage Park. Part of the funds will also be used to beautify and update our National Headquarters Building. We are confident that every member will willingly do their part to see that these goals are accomplished.

I am honored to serve as your National President in 2008 and hope to visit many of your chapters even before our annual convention in Richfield in September.

To those non-members visiting our web site, we hope you find continued interest in our organization and invite you to seek membership in one of our chapters or as a member-at-large. Membership does not require you to be a descendant of a pioneer but only be willing to further our mission: (1) Preserve the memory and heritage of the early pioneers of the Utah Territory. (2) Honor Present-day pioneers worldwide. (3) Teach these same qualities to the youth. For more information contact our Headquarters at (801) 484-4441. We would hope to meet you in person.

Our best wishes to each of you viewers for a most successful year.

Booth Maycock, President 2008
