It is the mission of the National Society of the Sons of Utah Pioneers to:
-
Preserve the memory and heritage of the early Utah Pioneers, with historical information, monuments and markers, memorials, and an expanding historical library.
-
Honor present-day Pioneers who exemplify Pioneer qualities of character.
-
Teach Pioneer ideals to our youth, by awarding college scholarships to exemplary high school seniors, promoting the writing of Pioneer biographies by high school students and recognizing Frontier Life essays written by grade school children.
We also desire to reach out to the greater community, as good citizens, with this web site and with the PIONEER Magazine; also by sponsoring symposia and other meetings, and by promoting appropriate civic activities.
